Reaching Manteo from the North:
- Take U.S. 158 to its intersection with U.S. 64-264 in Nags Head (Whalebone Junction).
- Bear right onto U.S. 64-264.
- Bear right on U.S. 64 at its junction with N.C. 345 on Roanoke Island.
- Proceed north about 1.5 miles into Manteo.
From the West:
- Take U.S. 64 to its junction with U.S. 264 (Gateway Intersection).
- Turn left onto U.S. 64-264 and follow it about 10 miles, over the William B. Umstead Bridge and into Manteo.
From the South (coastal route):
- Take N.C. 12 to its intersection with U.S. 64-264 in Nags Head (Whalebone Junction).
- Follow the directions given under "Reaching Manteo From the North."
From the South (mainland route):
- Take U.S. 264 to its junction with U.S. 64 (Gateway Intersection).
- Continue on U.S. 64-264 (no turn is required) about 10 miles, over the William B. Umstead Bridge and into Manteo.
Navigating in Manteo:
From Highway 64 follow signs to the Outer Banks History Center, Festival Park, or waterfront area.
